On Thanksgiving Day, e2k produced the United Way Halftime Show in Detroit, aired on FOX. This year’s show featured a special Motown 50th Anniversary Tribute with many of the label’s hottest new performers singing some of the Motown classics. The medley included “Heat Wave”, “Higher Ground”, ‘I Heard it Through the Grapevine”, “Aint No Mountain High Enough”, “Dancing in the Street” as well as “I’ll Be There” performed by Melanie Fiona.
E2K brought together hundreds of local performers, teaching them choreography inspired by Fatima Robinson and also implemented a new level of field design with moving graphics and effects created by FOX Television. The show was produced by Erin Olmstead and directed by Katie Doherty with production support by Mike Brady, Peter Dergee, Leaf Sarlya, Lindsey Rosenberg, Ron Kellum, Shannon Smartt, David Sanchez, Jeannine Sabo, Amy Ekema and John Orchard to mention a few.
The United Way Thanksgiving Halftime Show sends a positive message to millions of people gathered with their loved ones on Thanksgiving Day. It also provides valuable promotion and funding for United Way and NFL campaigns to curb childhood obesity and promote active lifestyles. We are proud to join the United Way, the NFL and Motown in these efforts, and proud of the show’s success.
