Tipping Point Community Benefit

On Thursday, May 10th, Events For Change produced the annual benefit banquet for Tipping Point Community, a San Francisco-based non-profit that is working to alleviate poverty in the Bay Area. Their focused approach and strong due diligence has attracted a broad range of supporters from San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

The fund raising affair included a gourmet dinner, catered by Paula LeDuc Fine Catering, a live auction, led by auctioneer, Mark Buell, and a new, innovative donation experience that featured wireless devices at every place-setting and an animated presentation created by Events For Change and local artist, Dionisio Ceballos. In all, the fund raising activity raised over $8 million to support the on-going operations and contributions of the organization. The dinner/fund raising portion of the evening was followed by a concert of The Band of Horses, and a dance with DJ Ruckus.
The stage production featured performances by the KIPP Collegiate Jazz Band and Early Bird Choir from San Jose, appearances by 49ers CEO and Tipping Point Board Member, Jed York, an inspiring speech by Tipping Point founder, Daniel Lurie, a new branding film and an inspirational profile of the one of the TPC success stories. The videos and fund raising animations were displayed on a 30 foot wide video screen that created an immersive experience for the guests.
The design for the event, including burlap drapes, hand-printed table clothes, sisal carpeting, and luscious cornucopia center pieces was created by Stanlee Gati Designs. The décor and stage lighting was provided by Impact Lighting and Lighting Director, Mickey Fimbres. The audio for the dinner and the concert was provided by long-time associate, Sound on Stage. Creative Technology provided the multi-screen experience with seven computer feeds and digital playback in four different formats. Event equipment and production support was provided by GB Productions and Classic Party Rental. Rollie Steele provided the staging and massive draping production.
Events For Change Technical Director, Mike Brady, drove the venue development and technical production, while Michael Olmstead produced and directed the event. The Events For Change all-star staff included: Erin Olmstead, Lorie Murphy, Brad Robinson, Stefanie Liang, David Sanchez, Shannon Ellis, Jenny Robinson, Trisha Ricci and Meghan Harris.
