Candlestick Park, San Francisco
The 49ers welcomed more than 10,000 Faithful to the team’s third annual Fan Fest at Candlestick Park.
This unique event gave fans the opportunity to sample a gameday experience by visiting the Grand Plaza where they were treated to bands, the team museum, Jr. Gold Rush clinics, exhibits, great food and more. Attendees watched a live training camp practice on the field, the only time a public practice will be held on their home field, according to a 49ers press release.
The event lasted from noon to 4 p.m. and included live entertainment, interactive partner booths, a Kids Zone, face painting, clinics, and photo opportunities. Fans also had the opportunity to buy 49ers merchandise.
Pregame festivities included fan contests, pee wee flag football scrimmages, and performances by the Gold Rush, Sourdough Sam and Niner Noise. Following the entertainment, fans had the opportunity to watch Coach Harbaugh and the 2012 NFC Champions run a full practice in preparation for their race to the Super Bowl. And after practice, 1,000 of the luckiest fans were surprised with a private autograph signing.
The 49ers’ regular season began September 8th at Candlestick Park against the Green Bay Packers.
