On September 23rd, e2k and Events for Change produced a Rally for Clean Energy Jobs in conjunction with the G-20 Summit of world leaders in Pittsburgh. The two hour event was sponsored by Al Gore’s Alliance for Climate Protection, the Blue-Green Alliance and the United Steelworkers.
Speaker at the rally included Pennsylvania Governor, Ed Rendell; Pittsburgh Mayor, Luke Ravenstahl; USW President, Leo Gerard; Sierra Club Executive Director, Carl Pope; AFL-CIO President, Richard Trumka; the President of the National Wildlife Federation, Larry Schweiger; ER star, Gloria Reuben; Hip Hop Caucus head, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, and a video appearance by Al Gore.
The event included performances by rock legend Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Grammy-award winning country singer Kathy Mattea, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, local rock favorites Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers, and the Pittsburgh Gospel Choir. The event involved complex civic interface with major street closures and other security issues.
e2k’s produced many aspects of the event, including:

Ticketing, credentials, and VIP hospitality
e2k worked with Chris Wayne and Associates to develop the event and coordinate the grassroots promotion campaign. The event greening was managed by Jaime Nack and the team from Three Squares, Inc. Jaime and her team oversaw the separation of all trash, recyclables and composted items, the food service operation and the carbon off-set calculations.
